1946 Farmall BN

I"m looking for the distributor shaft inside it...not distributor drive shaft ...I"m replacing the drive gear on the end of the shaft for the second time and thought I"d replace the shaft if I can find it

Of the three brands of dists for that tractor do you know which one you have.

I believe its the original IH distributor...4 cylinder converted from 6 - 12 volts... I believe its distributor part # 353 890-R91... the numbers are shard to read...I've got it apart...I'll put it back together but think I would like top replace that shaft if I can find it

Which is worn the most the shaft or the bushing.

THe shaft is pitted...seems to have a slight "catch" in it when I turn it... I put a new gear on it and when I put it back together it was overly tight....shaft wouldn turn very well... ( I think possibly the replacment gear specs are some what differnt then theone I took off)I tapped on the shaft end where the rotor goes and it finally loosened. I noticed that there seemed to be some slop in the shaft...I could move it aside when the point where in the open postion...when I put it back together ...the rotor "spring" (contact point where the rotor turns) exerts alot of pressure on the cap and I can see tha cap move when I try to fire up the BN...It will fire and run on a little but won"t stay running.
