Plow Question

A friend has a 3 bottom, 3-point we are trying to identify. It has red paint so I am starting on this site. It has the lever adjust, short handle. and a rolling wheel on the land side, mounted on a bar about 3 in wide by 1 in thick, tire is about the size of a new car spare. It has resets, but not with any springs, just a small latch , the frame is heavy stock with everything bolted together like a J.D. # 44 plow style frame. I know this is not the best info, but does it sound like an IH plow? Thanks for any comments.

The rolling wheel on the land side is for controlling the depth, and IH did make some plows with that feature, but I think several other manufacturers did also. Look that plow over very carefully, and see if you can find some numbers, letters, logo, etc. either stamped into the steel parts or as part of the castings.

Thanks , I did see some #s on the back of the moleboards, wiil have to write them down, maybe it will help.

The moldboards won't help identify the plow, unfortunately. They could come on any model IH plow.
