my steering box has about 1/4 of a steering wheel of play in it. i'm looking towards the inevitable of total replacement or overhaul. has anyone done this lately and where did you buy parts or new box...

A few new parts may exist in some NOS hoard. Bushings can be machined and seals are available at many locations by matching the old ones. Replacements for worn gears are not to be found (to my knowledge).

Hi, Mike.
If you haven't tried it yet, you may be able to adjust the slop out of the steering gear box -- or maybe not, but it's probably worth a try. IH manual GSS-1065 has the procedures.
