650 IH powersteering (diesel)

Did the 650 Diesel come standard with powersteering or was it an option?...ps.was it better than a WD-9 or super WD-9? looking for opinions...Thanks in advance.
 
I don't believe any IH tractor was fitted from the factory with PS until model year 1955. You could certainly retrofit a 650 system on a W-9.

As shown below, my 650 came with the PS attachment. I am nearly certain it had its own line-item on the dealer's sales invoice. I believe it had to be ordered or retrofitted. BTW, my PS works great although, should the slave cylinder fail or leak, the repair parts are no longer available. This has been reported several times on this forum. A similar but different system was made for the 660.

Don't know what a W-450 setup looks like but it may be very close the 650. Not all parts would interchange. I just completed a Hydrostatic PS system on my W-450. The same could be done with a 650.
