C123 engine serial numbers

I'm looking for a source of information on C113 and C123 engine serial numbers. These would usually be six numbers long followed by a R1, R2, or R3. In the past, I could do a search on this web site and the Hugh McKay posts would come up mentioning most all engine serial numbers. For some reason that option is no longer available.

If the numbers you are looking for end in R1, R2, or R3, they are part numbers, not serial numbers.

I stand to be corrected. I'm looking for information on block casting numbers, not block serial numbers. Marv

The numbers are in the parts section of the CaseIH web site, the "FIAT" site listed above. The 364898 number is a C123, or in case of the late SA and C a C113 with thick sleeves. It will accept 3.25" pistons to give about 132 cu in. There is some disagreement on "casting" numbers vs part numbers. To me casting numbers give the month*day*year the part was cast. Part numbers by the time the SC was built have an R followed by a number for a suffix.
