m live hyd , and power steering

hello. i found a m, around a 1950 that has power steering and a live hyd pump off the dist, never seen this on a regular m only the supers , is this rare or was this all added after and how much more does it make it worth, thanks

It is a very common addition after the tractor was purchased. Possible dealer install if it is a M&W pump. or a retrofit of later components if it is IH.

It ads only the value of a live hydraulic pump (considerable for a tractor in use), but not much if anything as a collector tractor.

If it is an M&W it could be worth good money on Ebay if you decide to remove it and the power steering to make the tractor original.

Good early modifications are usually looked upon as acceptable by judges at shows, but not always.

If it is an IH pump, taking it off and replacing it with a distributor drive houlsing and front cover with the correct older mount holes would be challenging. Jim
