1961FARMALL CUB OIL

5-20 may be too light for that engine. I see no reason to use synthetic. Rotella for Diesels would be good for the Cub or any older gasoline engine.

i second the rotella. the bearing clearances on the older motors were a lot looser than the new engines,

Unless its the "new" oil for an ULSD engines I wouldn't put it in a gas engine. There's a reason why IH spent years and dollars marketing and selling low ash oil for gas engines while their deisel engine oil has a high ash content.

First off where are you at?? Is your weather real cold there and do you plan to use it this winter?? Me I would not spend the extra $$ so the syn. oil. Also unless where you are is real cold a 5-20 oil is way way to thin. Me I would use a 10W-30 or a 10W-40 ot maybe A 20W-50. That tractor unless then engine has just been rebuilt was made to run some pretty cheap oil and fuels in it because that was all there was when they where built
