OT-Front Splitting Stands

I got tired of looking for a set of splitting stands when I wanted to split a tractor, and then hurrying to finish so I could take them back, so I made a front set. I't might have been cheaper to buy a set but I enjoyed making them. It's a little off-topic but I thought the color scheme would make them fit in here. Does anyone know where I could get a plan for a rear set? I'm afraid they might be a little more complicated.

Them look pretty, you did a good job. Would be to easy to find in my shop (all painted up like that).

Yours look very similar to what I built, but yours are prettier. I built the set up for the rear also. I'll get the picture posted later, or you can send me an email. I do not have any plans, just the pictures.

Wow, that rear stand is nice. I would not have thought of that. Thanks for posting the link. I ashamed to say that I was so interested in showing my front stands off I didn't search the old posts.

I need a rear stand I can pull the transmission on my 300 after I split it. I've got a 4020 that needs a clutch too. I'll email rusty and see what else it'll bolt on.

LOL! I'm more red than green, but maybe I can make the rear set green and yellow just to keep it even ;)

Mine is not nearly as well engineered as Rustys but I took a piece of six inch channel iron bolted a tongue jack that has the crank on the side, on it in the right place, then bolted it on the side of the bellhousing on the 400. Only need one. Works excellent. Cost 30 dollars for the jack. Iron was out of the scrap pile. Bernie steffen

Is there any way you could send me the dimensions for these stands and also what you used for the adjustable casters? I would appreciate it. With those style brackets at the top it looks like it would bolt up to most tractor frames. Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Gee Bernie, you make it sound as if I knew what I was doing or something. There really wasn't a lot of engineering involved. I just scrounged through the iron pile until I found some pieces that looked like they wanted to be part of a splitting stand, and then just sort of put it all together, letting my memories of some original OTC splitting stands I had experience with be the blueprints. The orange and yellow paint was left over from another project, and needed to be used up, so that's what I used.
