IH 1566 4 speed conversion

I remember a couple of years ago seeing a vendor at the Western Farm show in KC (I think) who offered a kit to convert 15 series IH tractors (1566, 1568, 1586) from a 3 speed to a 4 speed transmission. The best I can recall, the kit allowed retention of the planetaries while changing the lower (once again I think) shaft and adding some gears. The problem is, I can"t remember who offered the kit. Does any one else remember these or who they were made by? Anyone have/use one?

I appreciate any help.

sounds neat. I don't know the answer, you could try farmshow magazine, they may have had an article about that.
I think an over-under type TA would also help. Although I have never heard of anyone making such a device for IH--I'm young.
Unfortunately when given a reality check, the product life cycle of our favorite IH tractors and their aftermarket upgrades are getting to be long in the tooth. The potential market is getting smaller every day. As much as we'd like to save and improve them, the world keeps turning and the next new tractor has all the desired features and a warranty. Anything more involved than overhauls and routine repairs becomes a labor of love. If you are unable to do the labor yourself, very few can afford the specialty labor.

and then there's guys bolting IH engines to Magnum rears and making the tractor look good...that's not love, that's an obsession...:)
