Farmall C rebuild

I was looking around and found that agkits.com has a rebuild kit for the regular C not the super that increased the bore from 3" to 3 1/4, and 1/8 over what most kits come in. My question is has anyone used it or any idea if the sleeves go right in or if the block would need to get machined to accept them.

With that being said would it be worth the extra $ for that little bit of power??? I plan to pull with the tractor. Any other suggestions are welcome!!!

Thanks for help in advance
Chris

I think your block would need to be bored oversize. If you have enough power now to cause wheel slippage I wouldn't bore the block. Use the 3.125" sleeve kit. I used that on a Farmall A back in 1975. It would pull that 16-inch moldboard plow easily. Wheels would slip a little when in sod. Hal

The kit that will take the C-113 to ~134 cubic inches (3.250" bore) will only fit into certain blocks found mostly in 1953/1954 Super A's and C's. There is a block part number that I can't remember off the top of my head but I can only remember the beginning (354xxxRx). The difference is the diameter of the sealing area for the o-ring at the bottom of the sleeve. The 3 1/8" sleeves use a 3 5/16" diameter and the 3 1/4" sleeves are 3 7/16". Sam

The block number for those kits is critical, be sure you get the right one. Also be sure the head gasket is for a C WITHOUT a water pump.

The guy I bought my 1949 C from said it has 3.250" bore pistons in it, not sure which kit he used though, or if there's even any truth to it.

El Toro where do you live in MD. I live in Harford county. I agree with you on the 3.125 bore. That will be plenty of power if your pulling 3000 and 3500 in 1st gear. If your trying for the big boys 5 mile an hour you need more then an 8th inch.

You need to bore the bottome where the sleeve seals if you want 3.250 pistons as the 48 block wont take them unless someone has changed to a later bolck which just mite have beeen done. Remember its on old tractor and you dont know what sommeone mite have done.
