I have the hardest time leaving my farmalls in the field for more than one night. It just has me on edge. I dont know what it is. Anyone else feel this way?

(I always unplug the coil just in case)

I guess anymore you never know. 50 year old parts are getting hard to come by and with ebay and others, there is a good profit to be made from parts. I doubt it beats meth, but those guys jacked up on that stuff, may be seaking some easy money. It all depends on the teritory....

Same reason I didnt put new points in my late uncles 404... I hate seeing it sit there until my cousin picks it up... but if I got it running who knows where it would end up

My tractors always sit out, except my one H, that I keep in the garage. Never really worry about much in my area. The H that I just bought this past weekend I had setting at the inlaws house for a couple days until I got my trailer, They have about an acre or land and no garage or barn to set it in, so that worried me a little, but I didn't lose any sleep over it. Went to pick it up Saturday and it was still there.

Unplug the coil for what? Most of those tractors have been sitting out SOMEWHERE for 70 years. Nobody has stolen them yet. But when I worked for a dealer years ago we used to take the rotors out of the distributors an Halloween night. I guess he probably remembered things HE did when he was a boy?

My brother's potato digger was stolen from an open barn near the road a couple years ago. Since he didn't plant potatoes that year he didn't notice it missing until 8 months later. Asking the neighbors who was seen over there and we tracked it down and got it back. My brother made several modification that made it easy to spot from the road. It was left outside near the field where the thief had grown potatoes. It was obvious to us the guy was a thief, but the sheriff wouldn't do anything except help us get the digger back. He had a history of stealing firewood from my grandfather several years ago. The troll is still out there looking for free stuff so we keep everything locked down. Paranoia based on experience.
