Case IH 706 Head gasket Set=Felpro

So, I bit the bullet and bought the Case IH branded head set(more$$); Case-IH stickers all over the package. When I opened it up, it says FELPRO on head gasket. It did have a different part number than the blown FELPRO gasket(insert Kermit the Frog hmmmmmm). We'll see how it works but it seems deceptive to sell FelPro in a Case-IH package.
 
You could have gone to Napa and got a head gasket kit that is made by Fel Pro for around $100.00. Fel Pro is a good gasket maker. Case IH and other companies will buy parts through another company and put their name on just how it is.
 
At least for the older tractors, I believe CaseIH makes 0 parts, everything is outsourced, supposedly to CaseIH specifications. Nothing wrong with Felpro.
 
Seals and bearings are the same way! Just another reason why I stopped buying from the local dealer, who has closed up within the last six months!
 
OEM manufacturers do not as a rule make 100% of their product themselves and havn't in years. Cars ,boats,planes,tractors makers can't stay competative because the costs would be to high. GM has been using Felpro for years.
