Does any buddy know of any tractor,truck,or car that had a 6 volt solenoid {such as Ford used}that was mounted to the starter.I have a tractor that someone has changed parts on the starter and the case is drilled out with 2 holes that the solenoid bolts to,

Power unit engines would have those solenoids on the starters.

Are you sure the hole are for a soleniod and not a sadle mount and someone put in a stud instead of the button some have been changed that way i have one or more like that. Is the Delco-Remy tag still on the starter you didnt say what engine the starter is for.

Early 300 and 400 tractors used a six volt starter with a solenoid mounted on it.

My 300U has the solenoid mounted to the starter. Originally 6V but now it's 12V. Napa sells 'em, and has both 6V and 12V versions.
