IHC 756 Gas -carb fuel cut-off

Has anyone taken out the fuel cut-out selenoid and replaced it with a plug? Will this work Ok?
I've put in a new selenoid a year ago and it seems to have failed or is sticking. I'd like to get rid of it.

Plug is fine as main jet is fixed, problem is threads are not your run of the mill thread. They are very fine (like national special) not tapered pipe thread. You could put in a packing, packing nut and needle from a for example M or just cut the end of the needle off and cut off the wire and put solenoid back in. Problem with that is you have ruined the solenoid if that is not your problem.
