Farmall H Schwartz Wide Front End to Farmall M

How much modifying can I expect to do when switching the Schwartz wide front from my Farmall H to M? The M is my loader tractor and I need better floatation. I have a Farmall H narrow front ready to install on the H as soon as I get the tires off the M. Thanks.

Larry

The way it mounts to the tractor frame will be all wrong.

An M's frame rails are 2" wider than an H's so the holes will not line up at all, and odds are the cradle will be too narrow.

Sell the Schwartz that is on the H. Buy a new, heavy duty Schwartz for the M, and then you can install some REAL flotation tires.

The entire axle is not strong enough if you plan on using it hard, Schwartz wasnt made of hardened steel, it will fit if you redrill every mount hole, biggest fault is the small spindle & wheel bearings on H, M much bigger.

The steering arm is gonna be different because of the different spacing of the bolt pattern.

Everything else should bolt right up.

Larry, I may be getting a schwartz for an M. I would be interested in swapping my "M" schwartz for the "H" schwartz. E-mail me at argyle @ isp dot com if you are interested.

Mike.
