wide front on a B

Was at a auction quite awhile ago and they sold a B with a wied front, now I thought that all B"s were narrow front or single front wheel, did somebody swap a wide front from an A?
 
It would have been either a homemade wide front or the wide front from another model tractor. The B and BN were only available with a single front or a dual tricycle front.

Yep from the factory the B and BN only had the trike type fronts on them But it is easy to install the front off an A on them so that is probably what it had. My self I'm going the other way and making an A with a trike front which also was not a factory made set up

That tricycle A will be a nice looking tractor. I personally think all letter series era Farmalls look better with a tricycle front than with a wide front axle. In their day, rarely did you ever see a M or H with a wide front axle or fenders in the South so those items look out of place to me.

I have to agree with you. I prefer the narrow front with two hubs/tires. Having said that I bought a Super AV early this year and it is a really sharp looking tractor.
 
This BA as I will be calling it is my fall/winter project and hope to have it up an running in time for hay season next spring. I have a sickle mower that goes behind an A so it would not fit the Bs wide rear set up so I figured I have enough of the 2 models to build a BA and then hope to add hyds to it so as to lift the sickle mower a tad bit easier and will use a power steering pump for the hyd power. Sure wish I could remember how I mounted a power steering pump on an od B I had years ago. I know I used the head light peg but from there it gets foggy LOL isn't it great to get old not
 
you kinda building a bn then, i thought the wide front looked kinda cool , so i mite get another b and do that i can get an a so i already have the front end, good luck on your bn.
