Have you ever bought atractor that you wished you never seen? I have one a Farmall 340 row crop with factory wide front. Wanted a 560 but all my friends told me this 340 was a real collectors dream. I have spent over $4100.00 on this tractor in the last 5 years. Wished some one else had it, and I had a 560.

I used to think that about my Hydro 70 before I got all the darned kinks worked out.

Keep after it and sooner or later, yer gonna get it so that it's field ready again. :>)

It's not how much the trip cost, it's whether or not you enjoyed yourself getting to the destination.

If you don't enjoy mechanic work, it might be time for a different hobby.

I'm in to my Super H for every bit of that, and I didn't do any major work to the tractor.

If you're just plain wanting to give it away, let me know where it is and I'll be right there.

Yes a 674. What a joke. On paper it should have been better than the MF 168 we had (it wasn't, the Massey had loads more torque) We had problems with several oil seals, T.A., P.T.O. clutch, transmission clutch, head gasket,(need I go on?) we traded it in for a Renault 781s (Yes I know some of their cars were a joke but the their tractors were awesome) Which was utterly reliable, that M.W.M. engine drank very little diesel yet pulled like a train.

my 340 has been nothing but a worker for me. replaced the hydraulic pump this summer after owning it for 5 years. love my 340. sounds like bad luck :(

340 is ok, but comparing it and a 560 is like comparing an apple and an orange. You just got one that had a lot of problems. If you buy a tractor that was last built in 1963 and expect it to be trouble free, it won't meet your expectations. Sounds like yours was rode hard and put away wet. It usually costs me 4000+ to "restore" a tractor, even if there is not much wrong with it.

Got this 51 MD thats going to take a lot of work to restore, but isn't it suppose to be fun. Work on it-get on here and ask questions then back to working on it.
