Update on High Speed Miss

Think I found the cause of the high speed miss that I posted about the other day. Found a broken spring on the distributer advance weights. and the other spring was off the pivot pin. Ordered a new set of springs and I should get then next week. So I won't know for sure till then if I got it fixed, but I doubt there is another issue (probably just jinxed myself with that thought eh)
Appreciate all the replies and help.

If the system was that out of whack, It was probably timed at TDC with the distributor advanced.
Thus no advance, and little real power! Good analysis. Jim

Thanks Jim, but it was more persistence than skill on my part. I've never been so happy to find a broken part!

You can get springs in a Mr Gasket kit that Napa and/or Advance stocks for like 10 bucks. Theres 3 sets of springs in the kit to offer 3 different distributor curves. Use the ones closest to your originals. Clean out that distributor good with brake clean and make sure that the advance shaft does in fact advance, and isn"t stuck...Shawn
