I"d like to find a B in need of restoration. Are there any for sale sites that might locate one within 500 miles of western colorado?

I have a B that is in need of restoration. I will also throw in some extra parts if you like. It is the widest version of the B (not a BN). I am in West Central Alabama. I will take $300 for the tractor. Let me know if you are intrested.

Is this a legitimate question, or a thinly-veiled wanted ad?

Regardless, there's no single site that's going to have exactly what you want. If there were, we'd all have barns full of our dream tractors.

When looking for a tractor you need to look everywhere. Local papers, craigslist, regional farm publications.

Even Ebay is a viable source. Every once in a while a deal will pop up on Ebay. It's rare but it does still happen.

On sites like this one and Tractor house, most everything is grossly overpriced. The ads in the back of red power magazine are the same way.

Live auctions are often the worst place to find tractors, because all the collectors within a 250 mile radius are there running up the bid.

Just like a good job, most tractors get located via word of mouth. Somebody knows somebody with an old tractor.

Take the "scenic route" home on occasion. You never know what's sitting beside the road.

Should be a lot of them in the vegetable area around Lamar/Rocky Ford. In running condition may be a problem, but some are likely still in use.

It's both and it happens every day. Personally, I usually place a wanted ad AND a thinly veiled post ad...but only the latter after the want ad fails for a couple days.

Okay fine... Ya can't beat 'em, might as well join 'em.

Where would I look to find a decent 560 at a reasonable price?

mkirsch, if you are asking me, I don't know. I live only about 150 miles from that area in SE Colorado. Another area in NE CO, not that familiar with the rest of the state. There had to be a lot of them in the 40's-50's. 560's are not that uncommon about anywhere. "Decent" may be the problem.

I wasn't really trying to do a wanted ad; I was thinking about a good website to go to, not an actual place. Thanks to all.
