Put my C in the shed in August.Running at that time. Went to move it Monday and it won"t turn over. Pulled the starter out and it still won"t budge. Spark plugs are out and you can see the pistons move about 1/4 inch. any ideas? thanks

sometimes mice can get down the exhaust and build a nest in the exhaust and drop stuff through the valves so it sits on top of the piston and it hits the head. Try turning it backwards and if it spins backwards this may be the problem. Also the valves could be stuck and not letting the pistons go all of the way up. Or the piston rings could be corroded into the grooves and not allowing the piston to go past the taper of the cylinder walls.

First off blow the cylinders out with air if you can. Then pour some ATF in the cylinders and put the plugs in and let it sit a day or 2. Then pull the plugs and I'll bet it will turn over just fine. If your area has been like my area this year it has been very humid and that is enough to cause tat problem Had that on an A engine just today and it has ATF in it right now

Its not a stuck valve as they cannot hit the piston. Are you sure it isnt locked in two gears. It should turn over with the clutch pedal down. You can move the pistons some so its not stuck tie the clutch pedal down and try again. The clutch disc couldalso be stuck fast to the flywheel. Tie the pedal down and use the crank with it in gear if the tractor tries to move the disc is stuck.

It is not stuck in 2 gears. I had an A that was famous for that, also it had the common starter sticking problem. I am going to try the ATF in the cylinders for a few days and see what that does. Thanks for your help!
