bn single front wheel

Does the single front wheel have any type of bushing or bearing in them? I have one that is loose and was going to tighen it up some, but I don"t know how. I was thinking about have a machine shop turn it down a install a bushing.

It has regular wheel bearings in it but I don't know the part number. Any good bearing shop should be able to match them or they might still be available from Case/IH.

I have these Timken numbers for the BN, A, C & Super C but I'm not sure about the single wheel. There should be a number on your old bearings. Hal

This one must be different if you look on Case IH parts look up it is the one in the center and it also show no bearings.
 
Some have no bearing, Just a hole in the casting with a grease fitting. others have roller bearings.
The small diameter cast wheel has none for sure, I owned an M with a no bearing single wheel.
Hav the machine shop bore out the wheel and install a sintered bronze bushing. Set the ID clearance to a new axle at about .0015" Make sure there are grease grooves in the bore to spread the grease, and keep the side to side play to less than 1/16". Jim
 
I had a machine shop make me a new shaft and they also put bushing in the side pieces or hub and with new seals it has been just fine!
It cost me about $100 which I didn't think was to bad.
 
The single wheel on my f-14 is also the small cast one. It had about 1/4" play!

There was no bearing or bush, just the shaft running on the cast iron.

Solved this by boring it and putting in bushes. After discussion and price comparison with bronze, we used steel for the bushes and use plenty of grease.

As a 'parade' tractor and no heavy work planned I figure it will last long enough if kept well greased, and can be replaced easily and cheaply when needed.
