hi i was at a junk yard today and found a osd6 Mccormick i know its a orchard tractor but was wondering how many diesel were made its all apart but most of it seems to be there thanks

I don't know how many but it would not be very many. The ODS-6 was the only orchard tractor available in diesel. The ODS-6 had the low seating position and hand clutch like the O-6 but it is not a completely shielded orchard tractor like the O-6. The O-6 was not offered in diesel because of cooling problems.

an ODS-6 is pretty rare with only around 300 units made. also, its the ONLY orchard model offered with a diesel.

I hauled one back from Idaho a few years back that Alderson currently has for sale. got to say its an odd critter

Pretty rare tractor. It would definitely be a stand-out showpiece once restored. They are very neat tractors. I have an OS4 that has yet to be restored but they look really cool when done right. Easier project than a regular orchard tractor with full side shields. You'll want to look at the bottoms of the fenders and the floor pan because they tend to be rusted out real bad. I saw another OS4 for sale that was all rusted out for $3500. That's more than I paid for one in decent shape. A diesel would be really cool!
