FARMALL M HYDRAULICS

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 1949 FARMALL M AND IT HAD A FRONT LOADER ON IT AT SOME POINT. THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL RESIVIOR AND LINES THAT RUN UP TO THE TIMMING GEAR COVER UNDER THE MAG. I WANT TO REMOVE ALL OF THE ADDITIONAL HYDRAULICS WILL IT CAUSE A PROBLEM IF I REMOVE THE HOSES FROM THE TIMMING COVER AND PLUG THEM WITH THE CORRECT SIZE PIPE PLUGS.

It is not a good solution The hydraulic pump will be running dead headed into a plug.
There are hundreds of castings available that will replace the hydraulic pump with a distributor drive housing. There are also hundreds of people that want that system and would trade the drive housing for it in a heart beat. (plus some to boot). Ebay would do it, or put it in the for sale ads to the left. Jim

I MAY WANT TO USE THIS SYSTEM IN THE FUTURE SO WOULD A BETTER FIX BE TO JUST CREATE A LOOP FROM ONE OPENING TO THE OTHER SO I CAN USE THE TRACTOR WHILE I FIX THE TANK AND REPLACE ALL OF THE PLUMBING AND THE LIFT CYLINDERS.
