touch control system 1948 Farmall Cub

I put the blade on my friends farmall cub and the touch contol hydraulic system is not stable: Either up or down but a "hunting" type of movement between full down and full up using the hydraulic control level. I have a farmall cub which is identical to my friends cub. The one I own works perfectly and will hold at any position between down and up. Have filled the hydraulic system. Would appreciate any ideas on where to begin. I would think using a hydraulic pressure gauge would be the first step to check to see if the pump is ok

probably need to rebuild the hyd resivour
need the serial number off of the hyd resivour to get the right rebuild kit

clean everything real well and clean, clean and keep clean while apart

Ron,

Thank you for the information. I stood on the blade and another person moved the hydraulic control level. Blade lifted me easily and I weign 215lbs. Checked the pressure on the pump on my Cub and it moves to 1000-1100 lb. quickily. Hydraulic pressure on the cub I'm working is 850-900. I agree that the hydraulic system in the reservoir needs to be rebuilt.
