H transmission cover

I just replaced transmission cover and new gasket. i now have an oil leak towards the front of the tractor at the transmission cover gasket. any ideas with out taking cover off. i have the right amount of oil in transmission.
thanks guys for all your help

I know you said not to say i, but take it back off and just run a nice bead of silicon on the case and put the top back on without the gasket. Ive said this before and got blasted for it, but Ive never been able to get a gasket that accually fit right, no matter WHO I got it from.

I use silicon all the time. I just run a bead and when I am setting the cover down I lay a half a dozen 7 penny box nails so the cover can't go down all the way and let is set over night and in the morning I take the nails out and let the cover down and tighten the bolts and you have just made and new gasket. Very simple and have never had a leak or a problem.

The oil level in the trans is low enough that it usually does not leak much. Are you sure it is not leaking from the belt pulley?

My H trans gasket didnt line up to all the holes and actually looked a 1/2 inch short.I soaked my H trans cover gasket in warm water in the bath tub for about 5 minutes. Most of these gaskets are NOS and are old.You should than see a big difference.I installed it on the trans than let it dry that way. Mine than lined right up perfect,I also used silicon and put it back together after it was dry...john
