I had to split the tractor on my farmall cub to remove the rear main bearing and replace the bearings. Is it necessary to split the tractor to replace the rear main beaing? I was not able to replace the bearing without spliting the tractor

Not sure your question really, but yes you do have to remove the engine to get at the rear main.

Andew,

Thank you for the information. I had low oil pressure on my Cub. Replaced mains with standard beaings and put .001 under bearings for rod beaings. Oil pressure is good now but most tractor engines I have repaired main bearings are replaceable without splitting the tractors.
