what size subsoiler can an 806 pull i was thinking 3 or 4 maybe. also what size chisel plow could it pull maybe a 7 shank disc chisel? i would think that a disc chisel would be better than just a regular chisel so it wouldnt plug up with corn stalks and such. one more question what would help water drain more molboard plow, chisel plow, or subsoiler?

subsoiler isnt real common by me, but iowa seems to use them a lot more. behind each shank on the subsoiler they pull a mole ball on a chain, kind of a cast iron torpedo that helps with drainage. you can google mole ball, or they show the set up on john deeres website. supposed to last 2-3 years for drainage with the mole ball. maybe iagary can chime in with more details.

Depending on your soil type(s) a 3 shank subsoiler (like a bluejet brand) would be plenty, need at least 30-40hp per shank. A 7 shank disc chisel (soilsaver) would also be plenty, 5 might be better, it all depends on your soil and how stought the ole 806 is.
