There's a couple h tractors pulling in our area and people have told me they have something out of a Chevy Turbo 400 transmission in between there driveshaft and transmission on tractor to make it lower geared. Has anybody ever heard of this or maybe tell me what I need and how to do it.
 
I'm not sure if it is torque converter, the way I understood it
was some sort of gears out of the transmission.
 
Planetary gear reduction. I don't know how they would keep it oiled though. Maybe just packed with grease for pulling.
 
Haven't seen it, but was told a 5 spd transmission from mazda pick up will fit in the torque tube with a little work and not be able to notice it.
