Super C Rockshaft Arms

Hello all,
I have a 51 Super C that I am trying to get the Rockshaft arms off. I have removed the nuts holding them on. I see that they are keyed. What techniques have you used to get them off? I tried prying them off. Is there a way to use a puller on them? Do I need to remove the unit from the tractor first? I wanted to get your ideas before I break something. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think they are tapered. Get a good pry bar to put some pressure behind it then use a hammer on the side maybe over the key if you can. Don't hammer on the end of the shaft.

They are always stubborn. Look at the diagram in caseih, com (follow the logical path to parts, and put farmall in the model box. then scroll to super C. then hydraulic, This will illustrate the way it is assembled. A serious puller, with modest heat to arm socket only (like a propane torch not flame wrench) and then not so hot it ruins the seals. Jim

Gary,

Where are you in AL? Were just between Tuscaloosa & B-ham. We just took a rockshaft arm off of a super c the other day. It was extremely stubborn, but we got it off by first heating it with a torch, and taking a large steel bar/rod (5 or 6 foot in length and about 1 1/4 in diameter) and hit it from the other side. With a few blows, it came off just fine.
