farmall a plows

I need help. I bought two farmall plows that the lady said was used on a farmall a. Upon looking online they look to me like they are for a supera or a cub. Is there any way to tell plows apart that were used on the farmalls.

Here's a pic of the Farmall A I did in 1975. It has the 16-inch plow on it. You need the brackets painted yellow to install it. Hal

There are lots of parts for the A=192 rockshaft that goes between the fenders and two levers one to raise and lower unless its an exhaust lift model and the other lever sets the depth. It mounts on the bell housing by the starter. The SA plow would have a chain to hook to the list arms. and the drawbar is reversed and used the rockshaft to srt depth. The one for the A has a longer beam that hooks to a wishbone assy that bolts to the tront steering sector.Does either plow have a piece of round bar mounted on the beam at the rear give a better description of what you have not uncommon to be short parts when buying one of these plows.

That looks nothing like the plow on my Dad"s Super A. - Basically that was installed by switching the drawbar to be in the front and plow connected to the arm

The Farmall A type plow with attachment to to front axle support was also used on early Farmall Super A tractors. However, the Super A version, as made by IH Australia at their Geelong works had an adjustable 5 bar linkage connection to the rear rock-shaft to lift the plow. It had another connection to central rock-shaft to adjust the depth.

Thanks for all your help. The plows do have the tenseion spring on the front and a chain on the frame near the curve of it. I also think I got a good deal on the two plows and a sickle mower (which I cannot figure that out either) for $125.00.

Since we don't farm if anyone would like the plows and sickle mower let me know.I was going to try and use the mower but since I have no idea how to mount it or the cost, I would like to see them get used instead of sitting around the yard. Let me know if intrested. [email protected]
