F20 Engine Swap

Does anyone know if they kept the engines the same through the 30's? I have an early model and need a new engine but need to know what years will fit (nicely) in there. Does anyone know what years they made the F20 in the color gray? (I can't find my serial number)

They were grey through 36, They engine blocks are all the same but there are changes in governors and throttle controls and such that will determine which would be the easiest swap. The serial number should be stamped on top the left frame rail by the clutch and on the engine block on a pad on the front left of the block. tell us the number and we can tell you what years are exactly the same.
