Tractor auction prices

Went to an auction last saturday of a guy who was getting rid of his tractor collection here in west MI. There were about a dozen tractors and 3 were farmalls. A 1939 Farmall M had been gone through and ran really good, looked decent, with new rubber went for $3750. I thought that was quite high. An MV that had been gone through, new rubber, looked nice, ran good, welded up front axle brought $5300. A farmall 240 that ran good, been gone through, new rubber, wide front, fast hitch, looks good, went for $2200. My dad bought the 240. I think it was a good deal for a good working tractor with fast hitch. I haven't seen one with a wide front before either. Only about 3700 240s were made. What is a 240 like that worth?

I think the M went rather high, but the MV was a steal compared to the one I saw sell two years ago in SE WI. It was reversed for a cotton picker with half a motor and pretty beat up. That sold for 9600!

Not sure on exact worth of the 240, but it wouldn't have sold that reasonable if I had been there! I've wanted one for awhile, and can't find anything decent under $3,000.

I went to an auction of a collection of Farmalls a week ago Saturday. A Super MTA diesel went for $9200.

As I mentioned in another thread at the time, a Super H TA sold for $7100. Since Farmall never put a TA in an H or Super H, it was most likely the rear of a 300 with a TA grafted onto the front of an H or Super H. It even had nice decals that said "Super H TA". But, you can have decals custom made to say anything you want.

A neighbor of mine bought a plain old paint faded H for $1800. That was probably the best deal of the day.

I bought a like new Howse 6' 3pt shredder for $600. I thought I wouldn't go over $500 for it, but on the other hand TSC and Oerscheln's sell the same thing new in an unknown brand for $900.

if you guys think them prices are high their was a B450 diesel for 40ooo at a Aumann auction in mn last month it was the Nelson auction mostly oliver stough their
