hot pressure line on 400

What could cause my friends Farmall 400 live hyd. pump and pressure line to become warm and weep oil out of the pump. Has 3, two way valves. Tractor sat idle inside for about a year. Was started up with nothing attached.

sounds like you have an air leak or an air bubble in your intake line--take the allen screw out of the top of the pump-careful not to lose the spring in the hole--pull the fill plug out of the hydrolic resivoir--put a little air pressure into the resivoir--it will prime the pump--the lines are designed to keep fluid in the pump--it will get hot if there is no flow
