Farmall Super A on UHaul Auto Transport?

Searching for actual dimensions and or any person who has hauled a Super A on a Uhaul auto transport.

My interest is I have 3 tractors to haul from TN to MI as I am moving and can only take 2 on the gooseneck trailer but would love to do this in one trip with 2 tow vehicles. I have everything else and have queried several old friends but none have a double axle car hauler type trailer (need friends in MI, lol)

I can rent the Uhaul auto transport in TN one-way however not sure if it can accomodate the ~55" track width of the Super A.

Thanks for info in advance.

I don't know all their reasoning behind it, but U-haul won't allow you to rent a trailer for hauling a tractor.

Typically, they require you to provide a description of the tow vehicle and the vehicle to be transported on the trailer. Things like make and model that they plug into their computer to make sure the load makes sense. It may be as simple as they don't have data or tractors in their database so can't evaluate . . . I'll guarantold, tho, if you tell them you want to haul a tractor, they won't rent to you.

Its got to do with equipment abuse, as well..Tractors are unsprung weight, all the weight is on the trailer when the trailer hits a bump, where as a car bounces, lessening the impact weight on the trailer. or at least, that's how it was explained to me.

Just tell them you want to move a car of roughly the same weight, towed with a vehicle actually able to handle the weight. its shady, yea, but I know I'm not the only one on here who'd suggest it.

I think U-haul's max speed is like 55 (maybe 45) posted on the trailer I imagine for liability reasons. This is well below the freeway speed. Why the move from TN to Mich, and where about. I am here in Mich. Congrats on the move to the north!!

About fifteen years ago, I went to an auction 400 miles away. I got caught with my hand up when it should have been in my pocket.

Yep, it was a good deal on a good tractor so I found a U-Haul dealer nearby. He said the trailer was rated for four tons. The fender spacing was so narrow that I had to load the tractor over the front end after removing the jack. The auctioneer set the jackless trailer on my Ford F-350 hitch. The loading operation attracted quite a crowd. I had no problems on the way home.

That's a 650 and the centers of the rear tires are setting on the trailer's 6" channel frame-rails. The front wheels just cleared. I think the floor bed was 60". That is a utility type trailer probably meant for mini-TLBs and mini-excavators.

If you could rent a bigger Uhaul truck, say the 26 footer. just put it in the back. pack the rest of the stuff around it. Just a thought. Loading wouldnt be that hard. Buy a few 2"x12" with as few knots as possible and double 'em up. back up to a slight bank and drive it in. Or pay a guy with a roll back wrecker on both ends (TN and MI). One to load it and one to unload it. Pull the tractor up on the roll back, back the truck up to the roll back, roll the tractor in to the truck. Food for thought.
