What model is this?

This is a really old photo of my Uncle Gus and me.I am now 45 yrs old, he is long gone. I am wondering what model tractor this is?

It is a Farmall model B. The paint job is not original. The grill and the lower sides of the hood should be solid red, just like the rest of the tractor.
The year would be somewhere between 1939 and 1947.
 
It is a Farmall B which has received an updated paint job like the 56, 57, and 58 Farmall tractors. The Farmall B was last built in 1947.

The Grill is the wrong color! It should be red. Later models had white grills; BUT the grill slats on this tractor match the letter series. White grills were on the numbered series.

I beleive it is a Farmall "B".

You can see several pictures of "B's" for sale. If You beleive this is wrong; then you can also look at other models close to it!

Painting the tractors white like that was a trick commonly used on the larger tractors when the 450s came out. Possibly people did it to these little guys, too.
You would paint it the updated paint scheme so from the road it looked like you had the newest model of tractor. The 140s etc had a paint job similar to that and I would guess that is what they are trying to duplicate.
Using PURE speculation if the repaint was done to reflect the newer tractors you could date the photo to >1956. This was the first year for the 450s.
 
Don't we all have a picture or three somewhere like that? This is me, with my brother in my lap at the helm of my great-grandfather's '47 BN in June of '63

Uncle Gus's tractor would definitely be a B as opposed to a BN. The span between the right brake pedal and the end of the pedal shield and seat platform indicates it was the wider (by 4") on each side B.
