M axles to 8-bolt hubs?

Is there an adapter available to go from M-type axles to an 8-bolt wheel center? I found a decent deal on some wheels/ tires, 8-bolt power adjusts, and the rims are in decent shape. If so, where can they be found?

I'm sure someone will come along with a more definitive answer, but I think Oliver made a 8 bolt hub that will work on a M. I also think they pop up on eBay. Perhaps I am thinking about 9 bolt adaptors. Dunno.

I have machine tools so I would start with 8 spoke 400-450-560 wheel. I would bandsaw through the spokes and mount the hubs on a sawed off axle and further mount the assembly in a lathe.

If I didn't think that the wheel would properly bolt to the hub, I would make a flat adaptor that would sandwich between the wheel and hub.

If you haven't got the tools, this would make a good project for a voke school student taking the machine shop course. Or, you could sign up for the night classes and do it yourself.

That is accurate, but I don't remember how many bolts the Olivers had. I also don't remember if it was the 77 or 88 model (or both) that would work. A tape measure and a trip the the junk yard will tell that tale.

I had thought about doing that, as I have an extra set of M centers, a 16x60 South Bend, and a Bridgeport, just a lot of work and a waste of a set of centers, and probably more sensible at that point to just buy some 14" rims and try to sell the power-adjusts. I was also saving the centers as one of my SMD's has long axles and is a natural for duals

As sflem849, says both Oliver 77 & 88 use 8 bolt hubs. BUT 77 has a 2 5/8 axle shaft and 88 has
2 13/16 axle shaft according to what I could measure.HTH

77 and 88 olivers used 9 bolt hubs not 8, only olivers to use 8 bolt hubs are from super 55 and 550. I founf a set of 8 bolt hubs on a 460 utitlty with ajustable axles and but them on my blue H Farmall some of you have seen on here, later tractors like 74, 84 series ih tractors that had ajustable rear axles will use a 8 bolt hub, good luck

I stand corrected, I just step out the door and took a look at mine, did not count.hhhhhmmmmmmmm
Guess I better pay closer attention, count rather than assume it is what it isn't..
