Pto lock out on 504 Farmall

Does the 504 have a lock out for the pto? If so, where is it located. We had a 300 many years ago that had a lock out under the tractor.

The seasonal disconnect was rarely seen after the 350 and 450 went into production. From what I have been told, nobody used the feature and it added a few bucks to the cost of the tractor.

I suspect you could install the 300 disconnect parts into a 504 without any modifications. This is where you need to crack a few parts books.

Why would ANY tractor need a seasonal disconnect?

In the winter, there are jobs like mixing/grinding feed, and spreading manure. Both require a PTO.

If a tractor has the planetary style PTO there are gears that are moving inside the PTO unit when even when it is in the shut off position. The seasonal disconnect will eliminate the noise they generate allow with saving some horsepower.
