Wiring for lights on a 300u

I just got my new lights for my 300U today and need to run some wire for them - what gauge should I use - its a 12 volt system. Is 12 gauge heavy enough?

Headlight bulbs take about 35 watts each (some are rated for 50 watts), that is about 3 (or 4)amps each. 14 gauge wire will easily carry 15 amps, so it will be plenty heavy enough to give bright light on 12 volt bulbs.

12 Gauge IS PLENTY HEAVY ENOUGH for typical stock old tractor 12 volt light systems (always still subject to load and total watts), you can probably get by with 14 fine (even 16 if not many lights depends on wattage) but if you have 12 laying around I wouldnt hesitate to go ahead n use it if you had to go out and buy 14 otherwise.
