F-20 Stuck Clutch

I have a 1935 F-20 that im in the process of getting going and the clutch is stuck. Anyone have any ideas on how to break the clutch loose without taking the tractor clear apart? Thank you in advance.

Not that familiar with F20 but a clutch is a clutch. I'm assuming the clutch is stuck in the engaged position and the external linkage is free. In that case the most logical thing is the throw out bearing carrier is somehow stuck to the tube it rides on. Rust would be my suspect. If you have an access hole that you can see the carrier try to move it with a pry bar. If it doesn't move try speraying some Kroil or WD-40 or any kind od penetrating oil. Let it sit for a while and try to pry it again. If you get it to move be sure to grease the carrier. There should be a grease fitting available to do that. If the tractor hasn't run for a while it could also be some critter has built a nest in the pressure plate. If that is the case you should be able to get at the nest with a long rod and remove most of it to the point the clutch will work.

F20 clutch to transmission coupler joint can be removed and you have another hole to reach clutch. If you have to you can remove clutch bell housing and leave engine in frame- support back side of engine. This will give full access to clutch, flywheel, disc and mouse nests. Old clutch facings did stick to pressure plate and flywheel when left setting awhile on F20, F30, Regulars, 10-20, etc. Fortunately the frame design lets you work on things seperately without splitting whole tractor like later H,Ms . Bring WD40, propane torch, big prybar and hammer. The side port for greasing throwout bearing has just enough room to tempt you to try getting wrench and hand in- don"t. Depress clutch pedal, lock it down and try long screw driver or prybar on edge of pressure plate, throwout bearing and lip of disc, try wiggling a bit each one and have someone try turning engine crank if engine hasn"t gotten stuck. Can also try lifting wheel and turning in gear to get a bit of shaft movement- a spoked wheel means you can get a REEEEALY long lever in and turn. RN

F-20 is really easy to get clutch out. take coupler off unhook pedal linkage and the ring of bolts out of back of clutch cover and pull it off. Clutch cover has the shaft, release fork throw out brg on it. Then you can take pressure plate and disc off. Probably find rodent debris in pressure plate. You can have clutch out in 20 minutes. Unless you have a mouse nest like was in my F-30. When it finally came out the center hub of disc was seized to shaft. What a mess.
