International 140 tractor

I have been thinking about getting a 140 to use to pull my 7 foot finish mower on fairly level ground for a three acre old pasture.
I need one with a 3 point hitch, however most of the ones I have seen have a quick hitch or draw bar?
Can anyone tell me if there was a specific year they switched to the 3 point hitch for the 140? Or can I use an older hitch system with the mower- it is a modern style finish mower.
I have a 574 diesel for various farm chores, but want to find a smaller tractor and just keep the mower on it.
Thank you

Dave, A 140 is a great mowing tractor. I would suggest you give some thought to a Woods Belly mower on one as they are really a mowing treat and so nice to your body and neck. They are for sale all the time with a Woods for little more then you will pay for a 140. I have the same situation with a new Bush Hog brand 6 foot 3 point finish mower but once the 140 with Woods arrived it hasn't moved from the barn. Unless you are truly in love with your finish mower move it down the road and think about the belly mower option. To answer your questions in your thread I am not aware of 140's with 3 point hitches but maybe they do exist, good luck in your hunt, Hal.

I leave a 6 ft 3 pt finish mower on 1 of my 140's and mow several acres every week during warmer months. Used for 30 yrs now and it mows great. I ditched the quick hitches and have aftermarket 3 pt hitches (worksaver?). I think a 7' finish mower would be a little much for a 140. I went from 5 to 6' and don't think it could handle 7'. We also have a Cub with a woods belly mower and I can say I eat more dust whenever I use it, which isn't often.

I too believe there was not a factory 3pt. But are available aftermarket or homemade. Hugh Mackey had one on his 140, search the old archives for 3pt adapters is you need one. Like said earlier if it is just a mower tractor, then the belly mount would be the way to go. With a belly mount you probably could not use a 3pt at the same time.

Thanks to all who have replied, they are all helpful.
I bought the 7 " mower a few years ago and due to my investment in it I would rather not let it sit if possible. If I did not have it I would probably go the belly mower route as suggested.
I could do the conversion to 3 point mentioned, but it sounds like the 140 might be power challenged for a 7" mower.
Any suggestions for a model # of slightly bigger IH tractor?

a 240 utility is a good little tractor. it has a fast hitch that u can easily mount a connection in the middle to make it a 3 point. Should have plenty of power. I have a 340 utility with the same setup for brush hogging.
