706 6 cyl gas

Came across a 706 gas that my nephew may want. Have not heard it run yet but has 50 percent rubber, clean, fast hitch, wide front, excellent tin. Owner wants 3500.00. Good price or not?

Anything a guy should be looking for on a 706 such as problem areas. Im a Deere guy first so need some help.

It's a good price. As to problems, nothing specific, remember it is at least 43 years old. Will use a lot of gas if you are going to use it much.

I have a question for you. Everyone talks about a percentage of rubber. How much in inches is the tread height to equal 50%? Just wondering.

To get to your question: What is he going to use it for and what are his horsepower requirements?
