Where might I find this part???

Would anyone happen to know where I might find a NEW HOOD for a 1976 Farmall 140 tractor? I prefer for it to be painted, but it really doesn't matter. I saw one on Ebay for around $242.00 plus shipping; but was wondering if you guys knew of anywhere that might have one cheaper.

Thanks!

Looking for one of those myself...
Also check and see if it comes with the four fastening hooks installed... someone else on here ordered one then had to spend more $$$ to get the faseners installed - after the ordered them... will look thru what I found and post it here sometime tomorrow

Thanks for the info on the hooks. I've actually noticed that on the hood on Ebay. All of my existing hooks are on the old hood, however the springs are worn out because the tractor caught on fire and it messed the springs up.

I just figured I'd buy some new springs and put them on myself and use the old hooks.

Yall let me know what you guys know!! Thanks.

I Saw one the other day hanging in a man barn. It was new.He got it at an auction, He asked if I needed it. He thought it would fit my 100 but it only has two holes. I could get his number. I think he wanted around $150.00

Have you checked with your local Case-IH dealer? You might just be surprised.

$242 is about the best its going to get.

Not many places make reproduction hoods. If you find one more than a few dollars cheaper, be VERY cautious. Odds are it's made of tin foil.

external_link is where I was looking to get one, ($269+shipping)in the pic the bracket for the spring hook is visible and it says springs are included I think.

Also today wwhen I looked up the hood - the correct
side decals popped up when I searched IH 140 hood,

Guess what guys! CASE/IH has the hoods (repro.) for $212 plus about $20 to ship. I can't believe I actually found a part from them that is actually cheaper than somewhere else! hahaha

Now if I could only find a good like new nose cone/grill. Would like a new one if they are too expensive. I need 2 of them because we just bought a 140 today that apparently kissed a tree. haha.
