Farmall 400 and round baler

I have a Farmall 400. What round balers would be compatible with it? My fields aren't flat, some slight grades but no real hills. I know Vermeer makes a Rebel that is rated as needing only 45 HP but they are relatively new and probably out of my price range. I would like to stay below $5,000.00 if possible. I would also like to have an open throat baler as I undestand they are more forgiving with tough hay. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Any tractor that has enough power to run the baler of choice on flat, level ground will also have enough power to handle that baler on hills, unless of course those hills are SO steep that you shouldn't even be on them in the first place. If the weight of the full bale being carried IN the baler while going up a hill causes the tractor to bog down, then either you are on a hill that is way to steep, or your tractor just plain isn't big enough to start with.

Stay with any baler that makes a 4 x 5 or 5x5 and you will be all right. I have a older vemeer 605F I normally pulled with a 756D, but in a pinch pulled it with my 460D. Just have to use a lower gear.

Thanks, for the information. Hopefully I will be able to find something in my price range before next hay season.
