I Have a 1941 A with a cracked block(part#6342DH).I have a block I think that is a super A block (has place for hydraulic pump and has part#251069R1).The super A block has flat top pistons.I havn't torn down the A.Does anyone know if sleevs, pistons, camshaft, tappets, head and crank will work out of the A into the super A block and if so does it matter if the pistons from the A are stepped or flat top?

Some 123 cid blocks had larger sleeve diameters and are not compatible with the swap. It probably should have stepped head pistons for good performance. 123cid is also desirable. Thin sleeves will work to do that. if it has the larger holes, it can be taken to 135 (I think). Jim

Near the oil filter on the block will be C-123 if it is a 123 There is no data embossed on a 113. in that spot. Jim

Also:
The 113 engine is always able to be increased to 123cid by using the thinner wet sleeves. Some 123 engines can be made to displace 135 CID.
Other engines in this sequence and that could be fitted displace as much as 150+ cid but those have no sleeves and need to be bored out to repair. Jim

251069R1 is the part number of the earlier Super A block (smaller lower bore). Standard sleeves give a 3" bore (113 CI). Thinner walled replacement sleeves with a 3-1/8 bore would make it 123 ci. Sleeves, along with most other internal parts are either the same or can be exchanged with the A motor (block 6342DH).

The Super C and late Super A had a different block with a larger lower bore.

This all assumes you haven't been preceeded by some wizard that decided to modify things.
