We finally got our H tractor done. It turned out pretty good. Taking her to our first show next weekend. Here is a picture if you want to look at it. Thanks for all your help through out this project. We got a super M and a 460 in line next.

I hope the picture is on there this time.

Now that it is finished, what are you going to do with it?Show queen?park in a barn under a blanket where no one will ever see it?Or,use it and ENJOY it,like it was meant to?I hope the later.Happy tractoring!

That is just plain gorgeous! Seeing those new rear tires just solidifies my focus on getting a set before I move on. They are just so darn expensive!

Thanks for posting a pic!

Wow. I'm doing my very first restore now on an H. If mine looks half that good I'll be delighted. Any chance you could post the original photo, at its original resolution (the one you posted was only 142kb) to me for a computer desktop photo? If so .. send to [email protected]. Thanks - and again, great job.

Wow - very nice.

I have always wondered if you would have walked into a dealer back when these were new if they would have looked as nice?

My Uncle and 2 brother in laws along with me did this. We will probably start on both at the same time. The Super M is stuck so we have some work there. The 460 has the T/A out of it (imagine that) so we will probably pull that and get started. Thanks for the comments.

Very nice workmanship fellers'. I knew Glenn F. must have been cracking wise, he got up before breakfast! All decaled up and as was stated so well, get out and enjoy it! Ya, I want you to get at that 460, a Farmall or International? As for the price of tires, think of what it costs a lot of folks for cable tv, mine sits on the floor collecting dust bunnies. Are you on that tractor seat yet?!!

Nice job with the photo, too. You know what you are doing there as well.

It's amazing how some people give no thought to composition, lighting, framing, clarity, backgrounds, etc. You see that all the time on eBay from people who have everything to gain with good photos.

I just swapped emails with a guy who wouldn't remove a part from its plastic packaging. I won't be bidding on it.

The 460 is a Farmall. We will be starting on it soon but it will take awhile to finish. With kids and work it makes the schedule tight, but it will get done.

Thanks,

Joe

We will show it, take it to fairs, parades, etc. We dont have the farm anymore so working her like we should is not possible. We love doing it and it helps fill that void farming slot we used to have if you know what I mean.

Thanks,
Joe

My family ran a Farmall shop [we sold, serviced, and stocked genuine IH parts for these Farmalls] from 1941 until 1991, so I have some idea of what was going on with the seats. If you bought a COMPLETE seat pan, you got the silver duck. BUT if you were buying the padded cover from the dealer--which a farmer might do if his seat pan was good, but the cover and padding were gone-- it was a red and white vinyl with a perimeter drawstring. BOTH were IH-supplied parts, and I sold some of each over the years.

Surprised you didn't complain about the tractor having the vertical DELCO distributor, rather than the horizontal IH distributor.
