1950 cub leak

My Cub is leaking where the rear bolts to the torque tube under the shifter .What seal or gasket do you think that would be,Big job??Thanks

First, make sure you have not overfilled the transmission, or left the tractor outside in the rain so the tranny is overflowing with water and oil. Seal/bearing replacement requires splitting the tractor at the bell housing and removing the torque tube from the tranny. The bearing/seal retainer is then exposed at the front of the tranny case. If the seal is shot, chances are you will also need a new bearing. The job is not particularly complex.
