Farmall C Demonstrator

Just found out a few hours ago that my Dad's farmall Super C is actually a 1950 C Demonstrator. After close examination we found that the entire tractor was white. We noticed this after taking the starter off and finding white paint on the back side. Does anyone have any links or good sources of information on these tractors? I'm wondering how rare it is and also a rough value for insurance purposes.
Thanks
Craig

It's only paint, some think they are valuable, I don't, only my opinion. Serial number should be in the range of 47010-54411. 1st quarter of 1950. Seems like one shows up on this site every month or two. I have one, but I painted it red instead of white.

Those who feel they are desirable might give 500 to 1000 more. They are interesting as a marketing gimmick but they are still very good Farmalls. Jim

Craig, I agree with the previous 2 posts. However, remember that demostrators also had signs that went with them. There are some good pictures available on them.

I for one, would pay a premium for a true demostrator that had the signs to go with it. Just a demonstrator by itself without the marketing items/signs is interesting but not the "total" package.

It is neat that you found that you have one, but I would not get too too worked up about it being a "million dollar" find. However, what something is worth is totally dependent upon what someone is willing to pay for it. I cannot tell the number of times I have sold something that I thought was "average" and had people go "nuts" over it. Then turn around, and sell something that I knew was rare or difficult to find, and barely get what I had paid for it.

Take care of it, restore it to demonstrator condition, and be proud that you have one. If you decide to sell it someday, if someone is h#ll bent on buying one, you will get a good price.

as always, IMHO.

Somehow, that white paint turns me off. Fine with me if others like it. On the other hand, I like the looks of the gold demonstrators.
