Oil in tach cable

mkirsch janicholson and others. the other day I posted about engine oil in tach cable. The reason I thought it was engine oil was because I just changed the strainer and put new oil in the hydraulic. Aftder posting I puloled up the parts view and realized it couldn't be engine oil. he dace of the brand new tach was filled completly up with oil. Sure looked like engine oil to me. Oh well Thanks for replys Bernie Steffen

No issue; The pump seal will make it operate correctly. At least the cable is not starving for lube! I like to clean things up and lube the cable with Lubriplate engine rebuilding grease applies to the cable as it is put in the external cable housing. Jim
