1066 torsion bar? Moves under load

I have a 1973 IH 1066. When my shredder is attached and shredder wheels on the ground, when the tractor moves forward, the point at which the lower lift arms are attached to the tractor moves rearward. I was told that the torsion tube could be broken, but not certain? Any suggestions. Thanks

They were very prone to break under heavy mounted hitch loads, such as big planters or moldboard plows, usually leak oil, splines on u-brackets on each end stretch, bushings in main housing wear, steel spacers with groove for orings wear, there is a serial break but any Cat III tractor (1206/1456, 1066/1568 I think was same, they changed them on last 66 series), I would go get a parts picture, then you could see how it was built.
