paint question

What type is the TSC's Valspar paint? Is it a urathane or acrilic enamel or what? Do you get all the parts for 49.99 a gallon, or just the paint? Has anyone used this product, and how did it go on and whats the finish like?
I'm from Canada and have used Valspar from a paint shop and loved it, but not sure if TSC's is the same product or not. Thanks Kent

Tractor store paint is usually alkyd enamel which fades if left outside. It is the lowest grade of paint. Usually about $20-$25/gallon. For $50/gallon, it could be acrylic modified alkyd enamel or acrylic enamel, likely too cheap for urethane--read what it says on the can. If it does not say it is probably alkyd enamel. Valspar makes all kinds of paint. Unless the dealer has some sort of package deal, paint and thinner or reducer, etc are sold separately. The initial finish depends more on your skill than the type of paint.

I am in the process of painting a working tractor with TSC paint. I mix 2 parts paint to 1 part VM&P naptha and add (Napa Econo Body) Synthetic Enamel Hardener. Spraying outdoors with a respirator using an HVLP gun over PPG Omni epoxy primer has yielded great results. I expect the gloss to dull somewhat even in indoor storage but am OK with that.

if you are going to use valspar get the restortion series and add a little hardner, thats the best paint unless going into automotive paint
